Notes on term papers in the Spatial Planning (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) degree programs

These instructions initially refer to all term papers supervised by LLP within the Spatial Planning degree programs (B.Sc. and M.Sc.). Of course, the recommendations can also be taken into account in the context of project work, seminars or the preparation of Bachelor's and Master's theses.

For your literature search, please also use publications in international journals, which you can find in the following database systems, for example:

Scopus

Sciencedirect

The spatial planning journals available at the TU Dortmund University Library can be found here: TU Library Spatial Planning

If the journals relevant to you are not available or are only available as abstracts, the complete texts can usually be purchased inexpensively as a file or copy via Subito-Doc (please specify the correct customer group).

Please do not limit your literature search to German-language or Internet publications.suggested structure: (Summary) - Introduction - Theoretical foundations - Problem definition - Research question - Methodology/data - Results/discussion of results - Conclusion/outlook/further research needs.

We recommend using a standardized citation style. For maps, please do not forget the legend, scale and north arrow.

Term papers, B.Sc. and Master's theses should be uploaded in electronic form via Exabase. There are no further formal requirements.
