Effects and significance of open spaces and green areas for the value of land and real estate

This involves two research projects that are closely related:

  • Significance of open spaces and green areas for the value of land and real estate on behalf of the Hamburg Authority for Urban Development and Environmental Protection (BSU).
  • Effects of open spaces and green areas on the value of land and real estate on behalf of the German Conference of Heads of Garden Authorities at the German Association of Cities (GALK-DST).

Against the background of the research work completed so far (at the Technical University of Berlin and the Austrian Research Centers Vienna) as well as the objective of the project to create a Germany-wide representative data basis for the determination of the effects of open spaces and green areas on the value of land and real estate, the data basis is to be supplemented within the framework of this research project in cooperation with the cities participating in the project by as many as possible 10 additional cities as well as to carry out a corresponding evaluation of the overall data set and to process and present it in a final report. In addition, city-specific individual evaluations will be carried out for some cities.
